Wallace Swims to Victory
The motion
That the Parliament heartily congratulates Team Scotland's swimmer, Daniel Wallace, on winning gold in the 400m individual medley; understands that the Florida-based athlete has trained with Duns Amateur Swimming Club in the Scottish Borders and congratulates the Berwickshire club on helping a gold medal winner on his way to victory; understands that Daniel's parents sold their house in North Berwick to pay for his training and appreciates the sacrifices and support that all parents, siblings and family members have given to further the careers of all athletes competing in the Commonwealth Games, and further recognises the support that the home crowd has given to all participants in the "friendly games".
