Sunart in Community Energy First for Lochaber
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the community in Sunart on becoming the first in Lochaber to offer what it considers an exciting new way of investing in renewables through its community share offer, which is set to launch on 3 October 2014 and was initiated by the Sunart Community Renewables Community Benefit Society; understands that all of the electricity generated will be sold to the National Grid; believes that giving support to such schemes will be of benefit to communities and the environment, and welcomes the news that all surpluses will be donated to a local community benefit fund.
