Margaret Gibb Wins RBS Scotland's Real Hero of the Year Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Margaret Gibb from Bellshill on being chosen as the overall winner of what it considers the prestigious RBS Scotland’s Real Hero of the Year Award, which was broadcast on STV on 14 October 2014; notes that Margaret also won the Community Champion section award in recognition of her being the inspiration and driving force behind the North Road Playgroup in Bellshill for almost 40 years, which has provided help and support to hundreds of children and families in the community, and serving on the committee of the West of Scotland Play Scheme, which has overseen the running of over 350 groups across the west of Scotland for over 15 years; commends all of the winners and nominees in each of the categories for which there were awards, but believes that the judges were correct in choosing Margaret Gibb for the top accolade as she is a real hero to the people of Bellshill and Scotland.
