Lodged by Jayne Baxter Standard Motion 25 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Living Wage Week, which runs from 2 to 8 November 2014 and aims to raise awareness of the living wage; believes that the living wage is an important step in tackling poverty; recognises the work of trade unions in pressing for the living wage; notes with disappointment what it considers the Scottish Government’s refusal to make the living wage a condition of public procurement, and encourages employers across Scotland to formally adopt the living wage and become accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.
