Congratulations to the Boys' Brigade
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the members of the Boys' Brigade (BB) who raised £11,000 to fund new equipment and furnishings for a camp for young people in the Czech Republic; notes that the money was raised by what it considers innovative events, such as treasure hunts and games nights; believes that this is yet another example of the charitable ethos of the BB, which, over the last 60 years, has raised over £1.5 million for charities; considers this to be an example of exemplary Christian altruism in action by the Church of Scotland; understands that, each week, around 20,000 young people take part in BB activities; recognises what it sees as the important contribution of the church and the BB to Scottish life, and wishes everyone involved with both well in their future endeavours.
