Tackling the STEM Skills Gap

The motion

That the Parliament notes the opportunities offered by careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); understands with concern that employers have problems in recruiting STEM-skilled staff, especially women; supports Prospect’s campaign to increase the number of women in STEM careers in the UK from 13% to 30% by 2020, and requests that the Scottish Government establishes a minister-led commission to achieve this aim.
