Motion · S4M-12595 · 10 Mar 2015
Transport Links to the New South Glasgow University Hospital
The motion
That the Parliament demands urgent action from the Scottish Government to ensure access to the new South Glasgow University Hospital for staff, patients and their families, including the provision of adequate parking and public transport links, while respecting the impact on local residents; understands that even the planned number of parking spaces have yet to be completed despite many staff having been relocated to the new hospital campus; is alarmed by the concerns expressed by nurses and others about the practical difficulties that they are already experiencing in getting to and from their place of work; is dismayed that, despite flagging up their worries for more than a decade, residents in Eastwood and further afield still have no direct public transport route to the new hospital, including to A&E when it is relocated, and believes that ministers need to act now before the hospital fully opens with all the additional pressure and demand that will bring.
