Celebrating the Life of Hilda Meers, 1924-2015
The motion
That the Parliament pays tribute to the life of Hilda Meers, who has died at the age of 91 in Aberdeen; understands that Hilda was an active member of the Scottish Jews for a Just Peace and the Aberdeen and District Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and a renowned poet who dedicated her life to promoting peace across the world; considers that the spirit and determination shown by Hilda through her campaigning for various causes was an inspiration to others and that the words of her poetry will resonate long into the future across Scotland and beyond, and believes that she will be sadly missed.
