Orkney, the Most Romantic Destination in the UK
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Orkney on being named the most romantic destination in the country by the publishers, Mills & Boon; understands that the series of awards recognised the dramatic and magical landscape that has been long known to draw couples from all over the world; further notes that Orkney was shortlisted alongside Bath, Brighton, St Ives, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Lake District, the Brecon Beacons, Edinburgh, Oxford and York, and considers that this recognition will promote and enhance tourism to the Orkney Islands and boost the local economy and will do for many years to come.
