The Scottish LGBTI Awards

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement of the Equality Network’s first Scottish LGBTI Awards, which will take place at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on 10 September 2015; notes that the annual awards seek to recognise and celebrate those who have made a positive contribution toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) equality and human rights in Scotland; recognises that Scotland has seen considerable progress on LGBTI equality in recent years thanks to the hard work of many people and organisations from across society; acknowledges that there is much still to do before LGBTI people have full equality in the law and society; believes that these awards will provide well-deserved recognition for those who are working for LGBTI equality, and hopes that they will also inspire others to work for progress in the future so that Scotland can become the fair and equal country everyone wants to see.
