Minimum Room Sizes in New-build Homes
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges the work that has been carried out in improving specifications in the construction of new-build homes, especially with regard to insulation; notes however concerns that there are no specific standards relating to minimum room sizes and storage space; understands that overcrowded homes can result in physical and mental illness and impact on the development of children, and notes the view that everyone involved with the construction of new housing should work together to adopt a voluntary code that would see minimum floor space and storage standards in flats and houses in North East Scotland and across the country.
