Improvements to Calais Muir Woodland

The motion

That the Parliament notes that work is underway to improve access to Calais Muir Woods, a 100-year-old woodland in the Duloch area of Dunfermline; understands that the work will include improvements to paths throughout the woods, art installations, new interpretation boards and a nature trail; congratulates Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) on securing the funding for what it considers this exciting project and, in particular, commends the work of the FCCT Woodland Ranger, Lyn Strachan, who has worked closely with the Halbeath and Duloch Community Council and local councillors to develop and secure funding for this project; believes that the improvements will be a real boost for the local community, including local schools and nurseries that use the woods as part of their forest kindergarten programme, making Calais Muir Woods a more attractive and accessible place to visit; looks forward to the successful conclusion of this exciting project, and congratulates everyone involved in making this happen.
