St Charles’ One Family Foundation Community Award
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the campaign run by the staff, pupils and parents of St Charles’ Language and Communication Resource (LCR) and Primary School for a Community Award to build a multisensory safe space for its pupils; understands that St Charles’ LCR supports children with difficulties in verbal and social communication, and that a multisensory safe space will provide a critical facility for all to promote alternative coping skills and a love of learning, enhancing whole school wellbeing; notes that, if successful, the project will transform a disused classroom into a bespoke multisensory environment to promote wellbeing and calmness and positive social interactions, thus improving integration between the LCR and mainstream school; further understands that, in order to win the £25,000 Community Award, it must receive the most votes in an online poll, and encourages everyone who supports the project to vote for it online at foundation.onefamily.com/projects/a-safe-space-for-the-pupils-of-st-charles-communication-unit/.
