World Radiography Day
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges that World Radiography Day is marked annually on 8 November on the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Wilhelm Röntgen in 1895; understands that radiographers worldwide use the day to promote radiography as a career choice, promote its vital contribution to modern healthcare and as an opportunity to increase public awareness of the two types of radiography; notes that these are diagnostic imaging, in which methods such as x-ray and ultrasound are used, and radiation therapy, which uses methods such as radiography to treat people with cancer; notes what it sees as the importance of radiography to healthcare, and commends Bayer HealthCare on sponsoring World Radiography Day.
