Saltire Commendation for Ullapool Harbour Rebuild
The motion
That the Parliament notes with appreciation the commendation that the Saltire Society has given, in its civil engineering awards category, to the design and construction teams that undertook improvement works at Ullapool harbour; understands that the works were needed due to increased traffic as a result of the introduction of the road equivalent tariff as well as the introduction of the MSV Loch Seaforth, which has a higher carrying capacity than previous ferries; notes that the judging panel praised the design and construction team on their lateral approach to the problem of the site and that it was completed on time; congratulates everyone involved in the work, and looks forward to continued success for Ullapool harbour.
