The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Grampian Regional Equality Council (GREC) on its 30th anniversary; understands that the organisation was founded in 1985 as the Grampian Community Relations Council to support the increasingly diverse population in the north east; believes that it has highly dedicated staff and volunteers who provide a range of confidential services to people who have experienced prejudice; notes that these include counselling, visits to schools, translation and caseworker support; recognises what it sees as the importance of the work carried out by GREC and similar organisations, and expresses its regret that a number of people in Scotland are still subject to prejudice.
