North Lanarkshire Young Carers 20th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates North Lanarkshire Young Carers (NYLC) on reaching its 20th anniversary; applauds the work that NLYC has been doing for 20 years to raise awareness and to provide support to children and young people who look after, or help to look after, someone who is unwell or disabled; considers that the impact of caring on the lives of young people is often significant and can affect their education, social development and health, and that providing support in the form of needs assessments, personal advice and guidance, trips and activities, as well as assistance in accessing services, can make a huge difference; understands that the anniversary will be marked by a celebratory buffet to be held at the Alona Hotel in Motherwell on 8 December 2015, and wishes the project well in its celebrations and future activities.
