The motion

That the Parliament notes the reports of growing calls for the BBC to commission a flagship news programme to strengthen its coverage of Scottish affairs; believes that Scotland is currently underserved by the corporation; understands that it receives £335 million each year in licence fee income from Scotland but that its current spend in the country is less than £200 million, with only around £35 million spent on TV production, and agrees that there should be an increase in BBC Scotland’s budget to allow improved coverage of Scottish affairs.
