Motion · S4M-15097 · 7 Dec 2015
Reduce Fire Safety Risk
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the publication of the Regulatory Review Group's report on the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005; recognises the work of the group in the production of what it considers such a comprehensive study; calls on all stakeholders to accept the recommendations in the report, in particular those covering the certification by third parties of the competence of fire risk assessors, and requests early implementation of the recommendations by all those to whom responsibility for such falls to ensure better fire safety, increased protection of the public, reduced economic loss from fires and to avoid tragedies such as the deaths at the Rosepark Nursing Home in 2004.
