The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that £562,271 is being awarded to the Citizens Advice Scotland by the Big Lottery Fund Investing in Communities: Life Transitions scheme; understands that the funding will be used for Citizens Advice Scotland’s Advice in Mind project, which is run in partnership with NHS Lanarkshire to proactively engage with people with mental health conditions experiencing, or vulnerable to, financial hardship; understands that NHS referrals and co-location in health service settings will enable intervention at times of change in clients' lives, such as initial diagnosis and admission and discharge at hospital psychiatric units, so that problems can be tackled before they get out of hand and financial crises can be averted; understands that the project will operate in nine Citizens Advice Bureaux across Lanarkshire and will be led by Motherwell and Wishaw Citizens Advice Bureau; believes that it aims to help 3,696 people from North and South Lanarkshire affected by mental health conditions and to replicate the service in partnership with more NHS boards across the country; believes that the project will help tackle disadvantage and address inequality in Lanarkshire, and wishes those involved every success.
