Funding Cut to the Glasgow Subway Project
The motion
That the Parliament condemns reports that the budget for the Glasgow Subway modernisation project has been cut by more than half; understands that the spending proposals in the Scottish Government's budget will result in the programme receiving only £20 million, instead of the £45 million that had been previously allocated for 2016-17 and was expected by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT); believes that this reduction in funding will have significant implications and require careful management from the SPT, and hopes that there will be no further cuts to the project in future years.
