Wonky Veg at Asda
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Asda on extending its Wonky Veg Box initiative to 550 stores across the UK, including its Dunfermline branch; understands that this allows consumers to buy 5 kg boxes of "ugly” vegetables for £3.50; applauds this decision to reduce what it believes is the vast amount of food waste that is generated by supermarkets, which throw away tonnes of edible, but unconventional, vegetables every year, and hopes that other supermarkets will adopt a similar scheme.
