Congratulating Carnegie UK Trust
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Carnegie UK Trust on the publication of its report, Gateway to Affordable Credit: Report of the Affordable Credit Working Group; understands that the working group comprised representatives from the public, private and voluntary sectors; believes that these different perspectives have helped to shape a series of recommendations on how access to credit can be improved for some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged citizens and communities; supports the principles of community lending, and recognises the role that credit unions and other forms of community lending can play in providing sources of affordable, locally responsible and sustainable lending for people across Scotland.
