Keith Turner, Clackmannanshire’s Citizen of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Keith Turner on being named Clackmannanshire’s Citizen of the Year; understands that this award is given to an individual who has contributed to making a real difference in their community and that Keith won the award for his involvement towards helping improve the lives of people in his community for more than 30 years; understands that Keith was one of the founding members of the Sauchie Community Group, which has organised and run events for the community for over three decades, including a community choir, an art club, movie nights, carpet bowls, a toddler group, Christmas and Hogmanay celebrations, an annual Armistice Service, monthly community meetings and many other seasonal events; further recognises that, in accepting his award, Keith paid tribute to the many people who had, throughout the organisation's 30 years, contributed to the success and ethos of the community group, which has played an integral and dominant part in the lives of many citizens in Sauchie; wishes Keith and the Sauchie Community Group every continued success, and praises what it considers their tireless work, which has made them both well respected and held in the highest regard.
