The motion

That the Parliament appreciates everyone who participated in the Year of the Pig Celebrations for Youngsters event in Inverurie, which celebrated the start of the Chinese New Year; understands that the event was organised by Aberdeen’s Confucius Institute and hosted at the Inverurie Town Hall; notes that families were entertained with crafts, singing and dancing, all in relation to the holiday; further notes that the performances included Yee’s Hung Ga, a Dai Dance by RedPhoenix Dance, Chinese folk songs and Mandarin pop music from Lui Chen and Ning Han, and two children's performances of the chopsticks dance and the kung fu fan dance; thanks the organisers and event staff for ensuring that it was a great event, and wishes everyone a happy Chinese New Year.
