Young Clackmannanshire Skier, Hamish Blyth
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Clackmannanshire’s Hamish Blyth on winning a bronze medal in the under-12s kombi at the GB Alpine Ski Race; notes that his time of 1:05:13 earned him the final podium spot for fifth place in the event, which is part of the 2019 GB Alpine Championships in Tignes; acknowledges that this is his second medal of the event for the Scottish Ski Club racer and Dollar Academy student after making the podium with his time of 38.09 seconds in the giant slalom; notes that the children's championship runs in Tignes from 8 to 12 April 2019, with more than 300 young people taking part across 12 different disciplines and age groups; considers that these events showcase the next generation of British alpine talent, as the UK aims to become one of the top five Olympic ski and snowboarding nations by 2030, and wishes Hamish all the very best for his continued success in the sport.
