Camphill Blair Drummond Celebrates 79 Years of Charitable Work

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Camphill Blair Drummond on its almost 80 years of charitable work, since the outbreak of the Second World War, providing homes, residential care and supportive communities for citizens with various learning disabilities; acknowledges the dedicated work of the staff who live with the 45 residents and provide valuable education and development of lifelong employment skills through the wide variety of workshops that are provided by the organisation; notes the achievements of the residents themselves who managed to raise over £13,600 in December 2018’s Annual Advent Sale with their arts, crafts and culinary abilities; recognises the success of the Capital Development Project in raising over £10,000,000, leading to the creation of four new residential homes, four new workshops and the refurbishing of two existing homes and the Agility Trail enjoyed by residents, day students, staff, volunteers and visitors, and wishes the charity all the best for the eighth annual sponsored safari cycle and the funding of the bakery and sports centre.
