Postnatal Depression

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the prevalence of postnatal depression amongst women in Scotland, affecting at least 12,000 women each year; congratulates all who work to raise awareness of the impact that postnatal depression can have on women and their families; understands that dedicated support and resources are often needed, and welcomes the initiative taken by the Church of Scotland’s Postnatal Depression Project in launching a national awareness day, Bluebell Day, on 6 June 2005.
