Motion · S2M-04098 · 13 Mar 2006
Jimmy "Jinky" Johnstone
The motion
That the Parliament notes the sad passing of Celtic and Scotland legend, Jimmy Johnstone, whose footballing skill and trickery entertained and amazed thousands of football fans worldwide; further notes that Johnstone was a cornerstone of the first British team to win the European Cup and that Celtic fans bestowed on him the honour of being named Celtic’s greatest-ever player; notes that Johnstone also became a strong campaigner for raising awareness of motor neurone disease, and hopes that his campaign will continue to tackle this crippling disease.
