Lodged by Chris Ballance Standard Motion 26 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament notes the remarks made by Gordon Brown during the Mansion House speech on 21 June 2006; condemns totally Gordon Brown’s stated intention to replace the Trident weapons system with more weapons of mass destruction; agrees with Mr Brown’s earlier comments that Trident is “unacceptably expensive, economically wasteful and militarily unsound”, and acknowledges that the retention and replacement of Trident is incompatible with the United Kingdom’s treaty obligations.
