Scotland's China Office
The motion
That the Parliament notes the launch of the Scottish Executive’s Scotland’s strategy for stronger engagement with China and the signing of the Co-operation Agreement with Shandong Province in China; praises Amnesty International for raising concerns relating to human rights in Shandong Province, and urges the Executive to set standards by which companies should engage with China, to challenge abuses of human rights and to use the opportunity of greater ties with the Shandong Province to call for the release of Chen Guangcheng and for an end to forced abortions and sterilisations in the province.
