Condolences to All Affected by the New Zealand Mine Tragedy
The motion
That the Parliament offers its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the 29 miners who have apparently perished following a second explosion at the Pike River mine near Greymouth, South Island, New Zealand; in particular extends profound sympathies to the nearest and dearest of the Scottish miners involved, Malcolm Campbell of St Andrews and Peter Rodger of Perth, and expresses sympathy to the New Zealand Government for its huge loss and gratitude for the support and practical assistance offered to the families and friends affected from outwith New Zealand.
