The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the campaign by Perth Citizens Advice Bureau that aims to raise awareness of the employment issues facing young people; understands the campaign will use an online survey to seek the views from young people on their experiences in the workplace; notes that the project is being run by a local student and volunteer, Sarah Mitchell, who aims to raise awareness among young people of their employment rights; expresses concern that existing evidence from Perth Citizen's Advice Bureau's casework is believed to indicate that young people are unaware of their rights in the workplace and frequently experience unfair dismissal or problems with their contracts and pay; wishes the campaign all the best in improving knowledge of young people's employment rights; encourages them to participate in the survey and to contact their trade union or local Citizen's Advice Bureau for advice and support should they have problems in the workplace, and looks forward to the publication of the report on completion of the campaign.
