Congratulating the 2012 Oil & Gas UK Award Winners

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the finalists and five winners at the 2012 Oil & Gas UK awards; understands that these awards are an annual showcase event for the UK offshore oil and gas industry and aim to honour the top performing people and companies; notes that the winners were presented with their awards at a ceremony held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 8 November and that over 600 people from across the industry gathered to celebrate the winners’ achievements; believes that the quality of entries was judged to be high and considers that this clearly demonstrates that there is an abundance of real talent, innovation and enthusiasm in the industry; welcomes the finalists and winners' continued contribution to the sector, which it believes is one of the main powerhouses of the Scottish economy, and congratulates Oil & Gas UK on organising what it sees as an excellent event that provides an important opportunity to mark the importance and success of the industry.
