The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Alistair Taylor from New Luce, Wigtownshire, on what it considers his extraordinary success at the DIY Week Awards held in Manchester on 13 November 2012, at which his invention, the LadderLimb, won the Gold Award for Hand Tool of the Year, beating multinational companies, Irwin Tools and Stanley, into second and third places respectively; understands that LadderLimb is an innovative product that allows buckets, paint cans and toolbags to be easily and securely attached to ladders at minimal cost, thereby greatly increasing ease of use and safety; believes that LadderLimb epitomises the adage that the best ideas are often the simplest, and commends Mr Taylor and LadderLimb for flying the flag for Scottish entrepreneurialism at these annual UK awards.
