Motion · S4M-06630 · 17 May 2013
Bring HMS Edinburgh Home
The motion
That the Parliament believes that HMS Edinburgh, the last of the Royal Navy Type 42 destroyers currently in service, should be gifted to the people of Edinburgh when it is decommissioned later in 2013; understands that the Royal Yacht Britannia, since being moored in Leith docks, has become one of the country’s top visitor attractions, with some 250,000 visits each year, and further believes that the addition of HMS Edinburgh would serve to further enhance the regeneration of Leith and its surrounding area.
