No Blind Veteran Alone at Christmas

Lodged by Nigel Don Standard Motion 32 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the No Blind Veteran Alone at Christmas campaign announced by Blind Veterans UK, which aims to reach out to the estimated over 68,000 ex-service personnel who could benefit from its free services; recognises that many veterans either do not know about Blind Veterans UK or do not know that they are eligible for free support; understands that the organisation wants to let visually impaired armed forces and national service veterans and their families know that it is there to support them; notes that it does not matter when the veterans served, or for how long, nor how they lost their sight, and endorses the desire that people who served their country should not have to battle blindness alone.
