Improving Collaboration to Further Enhance Cancer Research in Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Research Scotland, the Scottish Cancer Research Network and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry Scottish Cancer Industry Group on organising the Scottish cancer research conference, Working with Industry, which took place in Glasgow on 7 May 2014; notes that over 150 delegates attended the event, which looked specifically at Scotland’s research capability in a globally competitive market and heard from a number of leading clinicians and researchers from the NHS, the third sector, academia and the pharmaceutical industry; considers that examining ways for even closer collaboration between researchers in the NHS and in the pharmaceutical industry will bring mutual benefits, and looks forward to more patients being offered access to innovative clinical research as a result.
