The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the publication of In the family way: Five years of caring for Kinship Carers in Scotland by Citizens Advice Scotland, celebrating the success of the first five years of its service for kinship carers, which began in September 2008; believes that the service has proven to be invaluable to the almost 3,000 kinship carers who have received tailored and expert advice from the project; acknowledges that becoming a kinship carer can be a stressful period and that extra support is often needed to access the support that kinship carers need and are entitled to; congratulates the service on securing almost £1 million for its clients since 2008, and believes that the expertise that the service has built up since 2008 and which is sought and used by both kinship carers and policy professionals alike should continue to be supported.
