Congratulations to Barrhead's Water Works Project
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Barrhead’s Water Works project on its launch on 20 June 2014; understands that the project will transform an unused derelict site into a space that the community can enjoy now and in the future, cleaning 30 years' worth of rubbish and rubble, amounting to over 6,000 bin bags full; notes that this project received £100,000 of funding after being voted as the Scottish flagship project by Grow Wild; considers that this a significant achievement for the local community; further notes the collaborative efforts of Barrhead High School pupils, East Renfrewshire Council and members of the local community in making this project happen, and wishes everyone involved continued success in bringing Water Works to life.
