The Glasgow Girls at Kirkcudbright
The motion
That the Parliament notes the opening, on 28 June 2014, of Kirkcudbright 2000’s annual summer exhibition, the Glasgow Girls 1920-1960, in Kirkcudbright Town Hall; notes that this is the 14th exhibition to be mounted in Kirkcudbright Town Hall and is a sequel to what was considered the highly successful exhibition, Glasgow Girls: Artists and Designers 1890-1930, in 2010; believes that the summer exhibitions have a positive benefit to the local economy by attracting visitors to the town and the surrounding area, building on Kirkcudbright’s substantial reputation as the "Artists’ Town", and warmly congratulates everyone involved with this latest in a long run of successful summer exhibitions, which it hopes will be a resounding success.
