The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Creative Scotland's announcement of a grant of £465,000 for the restoration and redevelopment of Dunoon’s Burgh Hall; is aware that the Burgh Hall is considered Dunoon’s most important civic building and that the redevelopment plans will create a multi-use arts hub, with the main hall capable of supporting a mixed performance programme, events and functions, and larger exhibitions, while maintaining the historic nature of the building; pays tribute to those involved in the Dunoon Burgh Hall Trust, ably chaired by John McAslan, for what it considers is the excellent work that it has undertaken since reopening Dunoon Burgh Hall in 2009, and wishes the trust continued success as it seeks to begin redevelopment work early in 2015, with completion the following year.
