Barnardo's Scotland partners with the Big Burns Supper
The motion
That the Parliament notes that the Big Burns Supper, which it understands is Europe’s biggest winter fringe festival, will take place in Dumfries and Galloway from 23 to 31 January 2015; understands that Barnardo’s Scotland has become the event's first-ever charity partner; welcomes one of the main roles of the festival to give children and young people the chance to get involved with arts and entertainment; notes that young people will aim to join together to make a huge Barnardo’s Scotland lantern that will be displayed at the front of the Burns Night street carnival; notes that Barnardo’s Scotland provides services aimed at improving the lives of children and young people across Dumfries and Galloway; believes that partnerships such as this play an important role in supporting such vital work, and congratulates the organisers of the Big Burns Supper on what it sees as their hard work and dedication in making the event a continuing success.
