The motion

That the Parliament condemns the actions of the owner, the billionaire, Mike Ashley, and management of Sports Direct to close USC in Dundonald, where, it understands, 88 employees have been made redundant without prior notice; understands that the employees will not receive any redundancy payment from the company and that any pay due from mid-December onwards will not be paid; calls on Mr Ashley, who is currently offering to inject £10 million into Rangers FC, to take responsibility for the loss of jobs at USC and ensure that the workforce is treated with respect and given the payments that are owed, and further calls on the Scottish Government to do everything possible to both support the workforce and seek an investigation into the financial activities of Sports Direct relating to the closure.
