Congratulations to Gypsy/Traveller Project
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Gypsy/Traveller project of the Minority Ethnic Carers of People Project (MECOPP), which is based in the Edinburgh Northern and Leith parliamentary constituency, on winning the Principles into Practice Respect for Diversity award; understands that the award has been given by the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland in recognition of the project's innovative work on mental health with the Gypsy/Traveller community and highlights the collaborative, community-based approach of the project; recognises the importance of such an approach in allowing marginalised communities to access health and social care services, and welcomes the best practice offered by MECOPP’s use of creative arts to break mental health stigma.
