Scottish Huntington's Association

The motion

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the immense medical, social and emotional challenges faced by people living with Huntington’s disease; understands that the number of people in Scotland being diagnosed with this devastating rare brain condition has risen by 55% in the last three years; notes the Scottish Huntington’s Association’s call for a national action plan to address this; acknowledges that there is still much to do to ensure that each person in Scotland with the condition, and their families, receives the same level of care and support regardless of where they live; commends the role of the Scottish Huntington’s Association in aiming to strive to provide the best level of care to people living with the disease, and wishes the association all the best for the future.
