Dumfries and Galloway Council Becomes Accredited Living Wage Employer
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Dumfries and Galloway Council on becoming accredited by the Poverty Alliance as a living wage employer; recognises that this is part of the council’s anti-poverty strategy; understands that Dumfries and Galloway is the lowest paid region in Scotland, and believes that, in ensuring that all of its employees will be paid at least the living wage, it is setting an excellent example to other employers across Dumfriesshire and the rest of the region.
