Congratulations to Louise Martin CBE, CGF'S First Female President
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Louise Martin CBE on her election as the first female president of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF); understands that the former Scottish swimmer and vice-chairperson of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow had made it a top priority for the CGF to boost commercial opportunities in order to attract the Commonwealth's best athletes and that her contribution to the Glasgow Games made what most people describe as the best Commonwealth Games ever; considers that Louise brings a wealth of experience to her new role as president, including her time spent as a board member and chair of Commonwealth Games Scotland and as member and current chair of the sportscotland board, and wishes her the best of luck in her role as president and promoting sport and elite fitness across the Commonwealth.
