Congratulations to North West Highlands Geopark
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the directors and staff of North West Highlands Geopark and the communities of north west Sutherland and Wester Ross on it receiving green card revalidation status; understands that this will provide it with membership of the European Geopark Network for a further four years; recognises the work of everyone who contributed toward it initially being awarded this status and those who helped retain it; welcomes the assistance from the Scottish Government, which it believes has been crucial to the development of both the North West Highlands and Shetland geoparks, and looks forward to both Scotland's geoparks, and the other 116 around the world, being recognised as UNESCO global geoparks.
