The William Hill Community Engagement Initiative, Close to Home
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the establishment of the Close to Home initiative by William Hill plc; understands that this has allowed the company's staff in Aberdeen and Glasgow to work in partnership with charities in their areas to improve the environment, establish opportunities through sport and develop skills in communities; notes the work of William Hill with Starter Packs Glasgow in assisting people moving to empty homes by providing what it sees as vital household items, such as bedding, crockery and toiletries; welcomes reports that all Close to Home fundraising projects are match-funded by the William Hill Foundation, and understands that the initiative will be rolled out nationwide at the beginning of 2016.
